My 85-year-old mother is increasingly confused and anxious, and cognitively tangled. There are lucid moments, but now dementia is here to stay. I miss her healthy mind and body. She and one of her other nine siblings are the two most generous and selfless people I have known. She squeezes my hands so tight when we pray together, and I am grateful for that. Prayer for my daughter who is experiencing some mental health issues, has pulled away from God (she was raised in a Bible believing church and dedicated her life to God as a teenager) and me (her mother). She and her husband (he was also raised in a church) are raising their daughter (my grandchild) as a non-believer.
